China Cassava: Cultivation, Industry Trends, and Market Insights

Cassava is a versatile root crop widely cultivated for its starch-rich tubers, and China has emerged as a significant player in its production and processing. The country’s favorable climatic conditions in southern regions support large-scale cultivation, enabling China to meet domestic industrial demand while also supplying export markets. Cassava is valued for its applications in food, feed, and industrial products, including starch, sweeteners, and bioethanol.

In China, cassava cultivation focuses on both yield and quality. Farmers employ modern agronomic practices, including improved planting material, irrigation, and soil management, to enhance productivity and resist pests or diseases. The development of high-yield and disease-resistant cassava varieties has also contributed to stable production and better quality of raw material for processing industries.

The cassava processing industry in China has expanded rapidly, driven by demand for starch-based products, animal feed, and industrial derivatives. Cassava starch is widely used in food processing, textile, paper, and adhesive industries, while by-products are utilized in livestock feed. Technological advancements in processing, such as mechanized peeling, drying, and starch extraction, have increased efficiency and product consistency.

Romans 12:16-18

" Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!

Never pay back evil with more evil. Take thought for what is right and gracious and proper in the sight of everyone.  Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone."
